We help children and teens develop into their best selves through standardized psychological assessment, diagnosis, and therapy of behavioral, emotional, and mental health concerns. All services are age-appropriate and suited to the child or teen’s stage of development.

Preliminary assessment on the child’s development with expert advice provided for parents after the session. Suitable for clients aged 18 months onwards.

Comprehensive mental health assessment and diagnosis for children and teens. Internationally-recognized standardized tests used. Suitable for clients between the ages 2 – 20 years old.

Age-appropriate and evidence-based mental health therapy and counseling for children and teens between the ages of 4 to 20 years old. Fully-equipped play therapy rooms for children.

Preliminary or comprehensive assessment for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Suitable for children 18 months onwards.

Comprehensive developmental assessment (speech and other milestone delays) for children and and teens.

    MEET OUR PSYCHOLOGISTS

    Our clinical team are sensitive to the age-appropriate mental health needs of children and adolescents. All team members are fully qualified and credentialed (MAHPC and MSCP registered) to provide you with quality psychological services.

    Clinical Psychologist

    Alvin is the business director and clinical psychologist at Bright Start. He has 12 years of clinical experience in the adult mental health setting and 10 years of business management experience. 

    Aside from providing clinical psychology services for his clients, he provides clinical supervision for psychologists-in-training from several universities while also managing a private mental health practice of his own. As a clinician, he also draws experience from being a father in consulting parents who present with psychological difficulties related to family life.

    Clinical Psychologist

    Ei Win is the clinical director of Bright Start. She was previously the Head of School at a transdisciplinary intervention center for children, teenagers, and young adults with special needs. 

    Her clinical experience includes providing psycho-educational assessments, diagnoses, and interventions for children and teens with neurodevelopmental disorders. She is experienced in mental health concerns such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD), Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Selective Mutism, anger management, depression, and more. 

    Clinical Psychologist

    Jun supports children, and adolescents in navigating emotional, relational, and life challenges. Her work draws from a range of therapeutic methods to support individuals experiencing trauma, emotional difficulties, relationship concerns, and academic or work-related stress.

    Jun’s clinical training included community outreach work, where she facilitated mindfulness and interpersonal skills workshops for B40 families, children in shelter homes, and survivors of gender-based violence. These experiences shaped her trauma-informed approach and deepened her understanding of adverse childhood experiences (ACEs).

    Clinical Psychologist

    Kwan Jie is passionate about working with children and adolescents. She adopts a family and systemic approach in her practice, which naturally leads her to work closely with families when addressing emotional and behavioural challenges in children.

    She has experience working with children who have gone through adverse childhood experiences (ACE), including parental separation, abuse, and neglect. She is also trained to work with a wide range of concerns, including anger, eating disorders, autism, learning disorders and ADHD.

    Clinical Psychologist

    With a deep passion for supporting children, adolescents, and parents, Shen Voon has pursued hands-on experience in child and adolescent mental health. Her journey includes a role at the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry in Taiwan, where she worked alongside a multidisciplinary team of experts, including psychiatrists, social workers, speech therapists, and occupational therapists. 

    She extends her commitment to young people by volunteering with Buddy Bear, a suicide hotline providing essential psychological first aid to children and adolescents in need.
